Katie & Justin : Wedding Invitations

When I met with Katie and Justin to discuss their wedding invitations, they really liked the format and colors of Andrea and Jordan's invitations. Their June wedding will be held at the Colony Clubin Detroit. The wedding colors are navy blue and ivory with pops of grass green.

Katie was interested in incorporating a paisley pattern, and we decided to adhere a metallic navy and champagne patterned cardstock with a green backing on the invitation. This adds amazing texture and dimension to the invite.

The front and back of the information card, including reception and accommodations information. These are one of my first wedding invitations that use a basic block font throughout, without a script font accent, and I love the simplicity.

The response postcard included dinner options for guests on the front and the paisley pattern framing their monogram on the back.

Envelope wraps with guest address printing.

Custom-designed green and navy mailing envelope stamps and response card stamps.

Carolyn & Dave : Thank You Cards

Photo note cards created for Carolyn and Dave to send as their wedding thank you cards. I combined their beautiful black and white wedding photo by Dawn Haas Photography with light green and a delicate floral scroll pattern. Medium green envelopes with return address printing were also included.

Nadia & Ryan : Wedding Invitations

Nadia is a UK bride-to-be who stumbled upon my blog as she was searching for wedding invitations. I have really enjoyed working with her to develop invitations that would be a perfect fit for the unique vision she had in mind.

Inspiration started with the wedding theme. From Nadia: "Our theme is music and lyrics and the colour scheme is black, white and apple green. There is also a vintage 20s theme running through the whole day. My dress is a Jenny Packham 1920s style to go with the vintage theme. Ryan is wearing a black tuxedo (but with snakeskin books for that rock and roll edge!). We are getting married in a Catholic Church, where we are having a children's choir and an organist and then travelling to Northumberland, North East England in the countryside in a vintage 1920s car. The venue is an English country hotel . We are having cocktails on the patio first with a jazz pianist and then the wedding breakfast is in a white marquee. We also have a table with a vintage suitcase, wish tree, old typewriter and vintage piano rolls. After the meal, we have a live band and then a DJ - so plenty of music." Talk about fabulous inspiration!!!

I shared an idea to have the invitation wording appear within a musical score like lyrics and she loved it. "Our Wedding Day" and the date appears at the top as the title.

The back of the invitations were designed to look like a song writer's notebook, incorporating some of Nadia and Ryan's favorite lyrics.

The response postcard was designed to include some additional details about accommodations and the DELICIOUS options for the wedding brunch.

As a fun unexpected touch, a fill-in-the-blank MadLib was included on the reverse side of the response postcard.

Stay tuned for Nadia & Ryan's unique wedding day extras!

And I just had to share this last note from Nadia...this is why I love what I do :) "I'm so excited about the invitations, I keep waking up in the middle of the night to check my emails! Have done for the past few weeks!! Can't wait to see them!"

Paper Lantern Shower Invitations

I have had the pleasure of working with two sisters who are both getting married this year - Megan and Kirsten. I worked with Kirsten and her mom to create these apple green and hot pink couple's wedding shower invitations for Meg and her fiancé Ryan.

The design inspiration came from the event theme and decor plans. The shower will be a "classy BBQ with a modern twist", with a backyard tent and Chinese lanterns hanging throughout the surrounding trees.

Many guests will be traveling in, so we created a separate card that provided hotel information.

Custom stamps for the envelopes, which were printed with guest and return addresses.

Rebecca & Daniel : Wedding Invitations

These chocolate brown, citrus green and light pink pocketfold style invitations are the largest I've ever created. They are 7 x 7 in size and include many unique elements and special details.

The invitation reads as a letter from the parents of the bride and groom, and Rebecca envisioned pops of her favorite script typestyle throughout - along with a pink peony floral accent. The reverse ivory on pink peony patterned border beautifully frames the invitation.

The accommodations and directions cards. A custom map design was included with the direction wording.

The response postcard with peony pattern on the reverse side.

Layered monogram seal for the outside of the pocketfold.

Peony-patterned envelope wraps with the framed guest address on the front.

Custom stamps for the response postcard and mailing envelope add the perfect finishing touch.
