Nautical Rehearsal Dinner Invitations

Sarah wanted a formal nautical-themed invitation for her rehearsal dinner at the historic Moshulu in Philadelphia. Her panel invitations are navy and ecru with nautical anchors and rope details, balanced with a stripe border and a formal script that we used on her wedding invitations. Envelopes were printed with guest names to match.

We turn one today!

Cindy & Patrick : Wedding Invitations

Cindy is a very good friend of mine, and I was so excited when she asked me to create her wedding invitations. She and her fiance' Patrick wanted a simple panel invitation set in their wedding colors - ivory and black with fuchsia accents. The style of their wedding is vintage with modern elements.

In addition to color, Cindy also wanted to incorporate a black and ivory pattern. She sent me this photo of a patterned ceiling beam from her reception venue for inspiration.

I recommended a slightly different tile-like pattern with softer lines, and they loved the look. For added dimension, I designed the pattern as a horizontal band placed behind the framed invitation text area.

The pattern frames their wedding monogram on the back of the response postcards.

Information cards with their wedding website were also included.

Outer and inner envelopes were printed with guest names and addresses to complete the look.

Sarah & Jason : Wedding Invitations

I recently created Sarah & Jason's wedding save the dates, and for their wedding invitations, they were interested in the same 1930s style and khaki, black and coral colors, although wanted to forego the vintage typewriter font for something a little more elegant.

Rather than tan matte cardstock, which was used on their save the date cards, a shimmery champagne gold paper was used throughout, accented with a black floral design.

A simple coral satin ribbon held the guest information, response card and envelope together.

Inner and outer envelopes were printed with guest names and addresses.

Sarah & Eric : Save The Dates

Sarah and Eric's wedding save the dates were designed to be simple, classic and elegant. Cards featuring a formal script and color scheme of ivory, pink and chocolate brown were backed with a pink shimmer cardstock and envelope addresses were printed with a coordinating look.

Neha & Dan : Wedding Invitations

Neha and Dan wanted a single invitation that invited guests to both their Hindu and Lutheran wedding ceremonies, in addition to other events that will be taking place throughout the wedding day. This is something that I haven't seen before and couldn't find any information for online, so we worked together to develop something unique - wording and style wise.

Neha chose a rich dark purple accented with metallic hot pink for the invitation colors....both very popular colors right now, and they look beautiful together! A large layered panel format was used to capture the invitation and day-of events that were listed, and a purple satin ribbon was used to hold the response card and envelope.

As their wedding will bring together multiple cultures as well as traditional and modern elements, the invitation design combines modern typography and bright colors with more formal script flourishes. A monogram of their first initials, which Neha thought would be a symbol of marriage that translated to both cultures, was made the focal point of the design.
