Detroit Skyline Invitations

Amy and Steve's Detroit skyline wedding invitations are bold, urban and fun! When Amy initially contacted me for invitations, she told me that their wedding would be in Downtown Detroit, and they knew that she wanted to incorporate a city skyline along with their pink, orange and green wedding color scheme. She also wanted a pocketfold format to hold her inserts neatly with the invitation, but then saw this z-card option with a sash for the inserts that she liked even more... A funky black floral kaleidoscope pattern was used to accent the colorful papers and to balance the black skyline. Inserts included a response postcard, a reception card and a directions and accommodations card with a custom-designed location map on the back. Custom postage stamps were designed to complete the look. Stay tuned for many day-of wedding paper accents!

Laura's Wedding Invitations

Laura sent me this inspiration board to help me visualize her vintage typewriter wedding theme and modern black, white & grass green color palette. She wanted her wedding invitations to be a reflection of this style and theme, and she also wanted to personalize the invitations by incorporating an engagement photo and a Madlibs format for all of the wording. Needless to say, I couldn't wait to get started on design concepts! The invitation itself was designed to be a folded card featuring their engagement photo and quote on the front and a black damask design with their monogram on the back. Engagement photo by Laurie Peacock Photography Inside the folded card is the Madlibs style invitation. And the Madlibs response card gives their guests the opportunity to have some fun with wording! Envelopes were dressed up in damask to coordinate with the rest of the invitation set. Laura has a fabulous blog devoted to wedding planning. So fabulous that she is also a featured Weddingbee.com "bee"! If you would like to see more of her inspiring wedding plans and helpful planning tips, click here to visit her blog site.

Movie Marquee Save The Dates

The design inspiration for Teresa and Mike's save the dates came from this photo of The Fox Theatre marquee in Detroit, Michigan. Teresa and Mike are planning to incorporate a movie theme throughout all of their wedding plans to make things extra unique and fun. This save the date design exudes the festive and energetic mood they have planned for their wedding, and also worked well for the "double feature" information they needed to include. Printed envelope calligraphy and custom-designed stamps complete the look. Stay tuned for their movie poster wedding invitations!
